Welcome to Fashion!

Hello Augusta! Well here it is…I’ve heard you all have been waiting for some fashion news from the CSRA. I’m going to do my best to keep you informed on what’s going on in Augusta fashion, give you some styling tips, places to shop, and even hopefully some giveaways.

I decided to make this first post a little more introductory for two reasons 1. To find out a little bit about me other than what’s in my bio and 2. To give you the opportunity to email me and ask me fashion questions or tell me what you would like to see me blog about.

I started out in the fashion industry as a plus size model. I constantly got comments on my clothes, shoes, and accessories when I would post pictures on my facebook. So, I had this idea one day… why not take something I love to do (shop) and turn it into income. I’ve been going full speed ever since. I don’t profess to know everything about this industry, however I do know that what works for me or a client, may work for someone else who is looking for a new look. I take initiatives daily to perfect what I enjoy doing.

Everyone has their own personal style. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s yours. If you hate it, then change it. And hopefully my blogs will help you do that.

With Spring right around the corner, literally… I decided to introduce you to my favorite part of fashion… COLOR! Color is the main factor in my world of fashion. I love color, and I try to wear it as often as I can. It doesn’t take a lot of color, just a piece here and there.

However, for this first post I decided to take some of my favorite Spring colors and show you how to color block. We get caught up in this world that everything has to match. You can’t do this, you can’t do that… throw all that 1990′s fashion nonsense out of the window. Fashion is Confidence! If you have the confidence to wear it… Do it!

Fun with Color

Colorblocking

As you can see I use several different colors as the main pieces (shirt, skirt, wedge sandal) and then pulled the colors together with the accessories (clutch, ring, earrings).

You can pull this entire look together for less than $100. Now that is what I like to call “Style with Cents!”

Be sure to leave your comments and if you have a question that you would like for me to answer any fashion related questions here on augustaschoice.com please email them to stylistamadameali@gmail.com.

You can follow me on twitterfacebook, and my blog.

  1. First of all, good luck with this new endeavor here. Second of all, you had me at plus size and thirdly, try to remember to keep us 45-65 yr. in mind too. Many of us like to look fashionable but we def. should NOT be wearing many of the styles out there. Another great thing to show would be how we can purchase something that is affordable yet still look stylish. If money wasn’t a problem then we would simply fly to NY, Paris, etc. and have someone dress us ;)

Hello Cyndee… Thank you so much for commenting. I will definitely be sure to keep the 45-65 young people in mind. I’m not extremely young myself so that won’t be a problem. I do offer styling services and you can email me if you are interested. I do attempt to put the store or website for each item along with the cost on the picture that I post of the look. Happy Shopping!

  2. Consider shopping for these items at a consignment store. You could save as much as 90% off retail. Many times you can find items with the tags still attached!

By shopping consignment, not only are you recycling, you are keeping money in the local economy. About 68% of every dollar you spend at a locally owned business stays in our community. http://www.the350project.net/home.html

OH! We carry plus sizes, too! Stop by Second to None Consignments, 206 S. Belair Road, Martinez, GA. Hope to see you soon!
