Row row row your boat!
While down at The Augusta Market yesterday, my son had a chance to try out the Rowing Machine with the Augusta Rowing Club Masters Program.
National Learn to Row Day
Saturday, June 2, 2012
On June 2nd, the Augusta Rowing Club will be celebrating the 11 th anniversary of National Learn to Row Day. This event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Boat House, 101 Riverfront Dr., Augusta, GA 30901
Members of the Augusta Rowing Club will offer tours of the facilities, ergometer (rowing machine) demonstrations
and instructions, hands-on lessons on the dock, and on-the-water instructions. Experienced rowers will assist in all demonstrations and activities. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver and will become “members” of Augusta Rowing for the day. Lunch will be provided. The cost for participants will be a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Golden Harvest Food Bank.
Competitive and recreational rowers range in age from 12 to 90 so it’s never too early or too late to take up the sport. The goal of Augusta Rowing is to introduce and promote rowing as a life long activity.
