Hey All.. Kenny here! It’s already that time again. Freshman Orientation begins at USC Aiken… All of you recent graduates and those about to head to college, plan accordingly!

Freshman Orientation begins at USC Aiken

Aiken, S.C. — The University of South Carolina Aiken welcomes incoming freshmen and their families this week for the first Freshman Orientation week of the summer. This is the first of three orientation sessions throughout the summer that will introduce the incoming “Class of 2016” to the USC Aiken campus and community.

Freshmen and their families will be attending sessions that focus on how to make the most of their college experience, as well as meeting their faculty advisors. These advisors will assist them in deciding which classes to take during the Fall 2012 semester. Incoming freshmen will then be able to register for their first semester classes at USC Aiken.

There will also be a fun variety of activities for the incoming freshmen such as bowling and team-building games. Grouped by their chosen majors, the freshmen are led throughout the week by USC Aiken student leaders called Pacesetters. These student leaders foster a team attitude and encourage the new students to form bonds with each other that they can maintain as they begin the new chapter in their lives.

The three orientation sessions will culminate at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22 during the Freshman Convocation, a welcome ceremony for the incoming class. Dr. Sandra Jordan will address the students for the first time as USC Aiken’s fourth Chancellor.
